Sick with the flu. This explains why my runs the past few days have been so crappy. Not the best timing to get sick but I'll take it over getting sick the week of the race. I hope I recover quickly.

8 miles. Feeling better but still not completely better. I'm still congested and my body feels tired from fighting off the flu. My run was really slow.

7 miles around Wheeeeeler Farm. My stomach is still recoving from the plague I had on Tuesday. But overall, feeling better.

The plan was to run between 10-15 miles easy. My coach said that I don't want to push my body back into training after being so sick. But to my surprise, I felt really good today so I ran the full 15. I still got my usual side ache around mile 13 because I'm still coughing all the crap out of my lungs so air flow is somewhat restricted. But I'm feeling more hopeful about my recovery. Next week should be a hard week with high mileage and some good speedwork. Here's to hoping that SG isn't a complete bust! 7:24 AP

10 miles in Kamas, UT. Running along rolling farm roads. I ran 5 mile out (easy) then picked it up each mile on the way back. I wasn't super fast but it felt hard with the altitude and getting over my sickness. 7:00, 6:55, 6:50, 6:48, 6:45 splits. 7:13 AP

11 miles with my awesome buddy Emily. We ran to Wheeeeeler Farm and ran through a couple mud pits. I felt really tired and Emily was spry. 7:16 AP

3 mile warm up to Cottonwood track. 6x1 mile with 400 recovery jog. My only goal for this workout was to finish all 6 and try to keep it under 6:00 pace. I was able to do both but my legs were dead. I think being sick last week zapped them. I felt like there was nothing left in the tank after the 3rd mile. But, it wasn't horrible. And in reality, I don't need to be running faster than 6:00 miles for marathon training.

Splits- 5:55, 5:55, 5:55, 5:57, 5:59, 5:59

1.5 mile cool down to get 12 miles total. I'm going to really focus on eating well, staying hydrated and getting good sleep (I had a rough time sleeping last night).

10 miles through Hollday. My quads are toast from yesterday's workout and leg work. But I'm feeling so much better. Aside from the lack of sleep I've gotten the past few days (can't turn my mind off and I keep dreaming of chiseled ab's and large calf muscles), I'm feeling pretty good. 7:33 AP

7 miles around Murray. It was a little chilly this morning. I said a prayer outloud for my good friend James running the Wasatch 100. I'm so impressed! Go James go!

I drove up to Farmington again today to run with Angi, Cynthia, Jasmine. I ran 3.5 miles before the rest of the girls arrived. It was still dark so I ran through a new neighborhood that is under construction so there were no street lights and I gazed up at the stars... I loved it. When I went back to my car to meet the girls we ran out to the Layton Classic and dropped off Jasmine and Cynthia so they could race the 10k. Angi and turned back around and ran back to our cars. We dropped the pace coming back and ran several miles under 7:00 pace. I'm so glad Angi is running St. George so we can run together! It will be nice to have someone to suffer with! 7:13 AP

PS- There will be a 5K run in my honor and I want all of you there!

PSS- I don't plan on dying.

8 miles house shopping in Holladay. I don't know why, but I've been running the same route everyday. I just love that place. Longer run tomorrow with a tempo thrown in because they are just so gosh darn fun!

Today's goal was 18 miles with 10 miles progressive but trying to get in that sweet zone of 6:25-6:30 pace. The weather was kinda horrible towards the end of the run, but the first 15 miles were pretty nice (Although I felt like I had a head wind every direction I ran! Good for training right?)

I ran up the Big Cottonwood Trail to Wasatch and turned around at about 4000 South. I love this run. It is a good SG simulator because of the gradual downhill on the way back. According to my Garmin, I gained 1,000 feet the first 9 miles so I tried to not push it but I was feeling good. I kept the uphill miles under 7:30 which I'm happy about.

7:30, 7:27, 7:28, 7:32, 7:14, 7:14, 7:10, 7:20, 7:09, 6:22 (oops, too frisky), 6:33, 6:43, 6:28, 6:26, 6:19, 6:14, 6:09, 6:07

Besides the nasty blister on my toe, I felt really good. I was eating up those last few miles. I wanted more. 6:51 AP

I ran in the afternoon today, which I haven't done in years. It felt weird. But sleep won the battle this morning so I had to run later. I guess drinking half a bottle of wine and not going to bed until 2:30 am will make the morning running battle a little harder.

6 miles around Murray. It was a little brisk. I loved it. My legs are feeling better from Wednesday's workout. Longer run tomorrow but I'm definitely starting my taper.

15 miles with Emily along our usual 4800 South, Canal Road, Gardner Village, Parkway route. I'm so grateful to have Emily as such a good friend! She makes training so much better and more enjoyable. I've been really lucky to run with some amazing girls this training cycle.

We pushed the last few miles and I ran mile 15 in 6:26. Felt good. Continuing the taper next week. Let the madness begin! 7:04 AP

2 mile warm up. 2x3 miles with 3 minute active recovery.

6:22, 6:10, 6:05- 18:37 (6:12 AP)

6:15, 6:12, 6:06- 18:33 (6:11 AP)

2 mile cool down. I felt really good again today. The last mile of each set was a little uncomfortable but 6:05 pace is much faster than my MP. The plan is to take it really easy here on out with a little 3 mile tempo on Monday. Gotta love/hate the taper.

10K around my part of Murray. My legs felt really tried. Maybe it's taper madness setting in but I'm going crazy! Last week while I was stretching, my little guy jumped on me which resulted in me doing a John Travolta disco movie style move and I felt a pull in my glute. I can still feel the pull and it's making me worried. When I'm running, it isn't too bad but I'm hoping it gets better as I keep resting.

Is it October 4th yet? :)

10 miles. Last two digit run before SG. I ran into Dr. Fletcher at mile 2 and I ran a mile or so with him. It's always nice seeing a friend!

My back/butt did not do well. It hurt. I was running funny by the end of the 10 miles. I'm starting to get concerned. 7:20 AP

Nice and early run today before the sun came up. Warmed up 3 miles, 3 mile tempo (6:30, 6:24, 6:15) 2 mile cool down. Back/butt felt ok. I'm sure the day off yesterday helped. Debating on whether or not I should go see Dr. Fletcher today and have him work on it or just leave it alone. 7:03 AP

Unexpected rest day due to my back/glute issue. I think it might be a sciatic thing too.
