Windy track workout this morning. I warmed up 2 miles and did 5x1 mile repeats at Cottonwood High (400 meter recovery jog). My last 2 repeats I tried Daniel's 484's...I liked them. You push the first 400, run the next 800 at about marathon pace, then kick it back up for the last 400. It made the mile feel easier and it made my race pace feel really slow and easy. My splits weren't super fast but I didn't expect them to be on tired legs and a windy day. I just wanted a good effort and I definitely got that:

5:49, 5:51, 5:52, 5:53, 5:53

I cooled down another 2 miles. Last track workout! Yahoo! Next week I'll probably do 2x3 miles or 3x2 miles...then it's easy running until the 18th!

cool workout...a nice way to break up the mile. race pace feeling slow and easy is a good sign!
