To quote my good friend Winne the Pooh,

"Hum dum dum ditty dum
Hum dum dee

Oh the wind is lashing lustily
And the trees are thrashing thrustily
And the leaves are rustling gustily
So it's rather safe to say

That it seems that it may turn out to be
It feels that it will undoubtedly
It looks like a rather blustery day, today
It sounds that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubtedly
Looks like a rather blustery day"

It was a rather blustery day to say the least. 20+ mph winds always make for a hard run. Emily and I pushed it pretty good when we had those strong head winds (7:30 pace going uphill into the wind isn't half bad!). Overall, we averaged 7:09 pace for 13 miles. We were REALLY tired by the end of it. We thought about Allie running 26.2 miles today and were grateful it was her and not us. Allie is one tough chick!

I decided to run the Salt Lake Half in April. Time to start getting serious about trainning again. I think I'll start doing some tempo/speed again next week.

BTW, Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss (tomorrow). I miss you.

i love dr. seuss.

great run -- that's a good pace anytime, but especially in the blustery wind!

slc half is a good one, and the new course this year looks fun and interesting. i am tentatively planning on it as well. i have indoor bathroom/ warm staging area hookups for that race...i'll make sure to get you the details before race day. :)
