Tempo Thursday. I was not looking forward to this. When the weather is so cold, I have a hard time running fast. But I wanted to do something "faster" since I've got a race in a couple weeks. I dropped Weston off at my mom's house and she told me I needed to be back in 65 minutes. So I had a time constraint on top of everything.

I warmed up for 3 miles (7:30, 7:22, 7:20) then did a 4 mile tempo around my house which is 2 miles slight uphill, 1 mile flat, 1 mile slight downhill. My splits (6:32, 6:30, 6:21, 6:23). Not super fast but it seemed hard for me. I guess I'm more tired than I thought and it was only 25 degrees! My cool down was faster than I wanted because I had to get back to my mom's house (7:09, 6:51). Overall, 9 miles at 6:55 AP. Glad it's done.

Thats a really great tempo by yourself in the cold. In my opinion the cold adds a good 10-15 seconds per mile. Way to go Jen! Don't get discouraged because your training has been really solid.

Which race are you doing?

Rachelle, I'm running the Dogtown 1/2 in St. George. I am excited to run in some warmer weather.
