Today's track workout was great! Although I was tempted to run with Emily, Devra and Allie (sounds like they had quite the adventure at Wheeler Farm), I am glad I hit the track and got some fast miles in. My trainning plan called for 5x1600. So I warmed up for 2 miles, ran 1600 and did a 400 meter recovery jog between each interval. My splits: 6:03, 5:59, 5:58, 6:00, 5:59. Then I ran a 2 mile cool down. I am super excited about hitting the 5:50's again! I wore some new light weight trainers and I really liked them. Maybe I'll try a long run in them this weekend and wear them for the marathon? I've become somewhat obsessed with running shoes lately. My friend ,who works for Asics, sent me 9 pairs of brand new shoes so I've been trying them out for her and giving her feedback. These Asic GEL Lyte's are the bomb! :)

Silly girl! Of course lightweight shoes make you run faster. I highly recommend them for the marathon. Nice workout, today! You are speedy!!!!

nine pairs?! that's pretty sweet. i'm sure you will have a lot of good feedback for your friend.

great workout yesterday! while it would have been awesome if you joined us, i'm glad you got a good workout in -- looks like you are ready for a great race at SGM.
